Prime Minister Andrej Plenković attended the grand opening of the Regional Competence Center in the tourism and hospitality sector at the Tourism and Hospitality School in Split. During the ceremony, he emphasized the importance of investing in vocational education and the development of human resources.

The €24 million project, co-financed by European funds and the Split-Dalmatia County, has led to a complete upgrade and modernization of the school, transforming it into a top-tier educational institution.

Beyond serving students, the newly revamped facility now includes a four-star hotel with 19 rooms, two restaurants, an oenology practice room, and conference halls—all dedicated exclusively to education and hands-on training.

“The goal is to provide students with work-based learning experiences that will enhance their competitiveness in the job market,” said Principal Ivo Bilić. He also highlighted the opportunities for education and retraining available to all citizens interested in the tourism and hospitality sector.

This state-of-the-art center aims to bridge the gap between education and industry needs, ensuring that future professionals receive the highest quality training and experience necessary to succeed in the ever-evolving tourism and hospitality industry.
